Jaipur - 'The Pink City', Rajasthan Tourism

Jaipur is the capital of Indian western state Rajasthan which is largest by area. Jaipur is named after its founder King Sawai Jaisinh II. City has lots of amazing historical places that attract tourists from all over the world in bulk. City is built in typical kingdom type and has lots of forts.

Jaipur is also known as Pink City, reason behind this will be clear if you visit it once. Let's start from famous places to tour if you plan to visit Jaipur.

Hawa Mahal :

Hawa Mahal is located in the center of the Pink City. This palace is built especially for the queens of Jaipur's king. So that they could watch all the festivals and anything that happens in the city from its windows only. This shows royalty and richness of the King of Jaipur.

Jaipur -


Its interior, Jharookhas and Coloured Glasses are wonderful from inside. Colouring glasses have been made in order to create lighting inside the palace when sunlight enters into it.

Jal Mahal : 

Jal Mahal is named 'Jal' because it is situated in the center of the city lake 'Man Sagar'. This palace is approximately 300 meters wide and 30 meter in height. It looks beautiful when you observe that there is a 300 year old but still strong palace in between the lake which is surrounded by greenery and mountains.

Jaipur -

Jantar Mantar :

Jantar Mantar is the historical different museum type place where all the architectural instruments that were used to individual predetermination of astrological things. Confused ?!

Jaipur -

Jantar Mantar simply means observatory of instruments to calculate various astrological things. For instance, Sundials and Cupolas. Jantar Mantar shows accurate and exact results and this is most fruitful about it.

Amar Fort :

Amer or Amber fort is a palace located 10 kilometers from Jaipur city. Palace covers approximately 5 kilometers square area. Note that the fort is almost 400 year old.

Jaipur -


Amber fort between forest and lake. Therefore it seems incredible when you go for the sightseeing of the palace. Sheesha Mahal - the Mirrored walls and Ceilings are beautiful and fort is divided into four courtyards.

Jaigarh and Nahargarh Forts :

Both are different forts but they are nearby situated. Both forts have lots of things in common for instance both are called as the part of Aravalli Mountain range.

Jaigarh is named after King Jaisinh and Nahargarh is named after Nahar Singh whose spirit haunted the palace once. Both forts are built by Rajput King Sawai Jai Singh II.

Jaipur -

Exterior architecture, interior, terrace view, Stone railings. Monuments and world's biggest canon are attractive point to visit in both the forts.

Tourists come to this cinema not to watch movies but to see the beauty of theater. This royally built Cinema has superb interior design and lightning. Raj Mandir recalls the royalty and beauty of kingdoms. Do not ever forger to watch this theater if you are visiting Jaipur.

Jaipur -

Jaipur is famous for its handmade 'Mojhris' nad 'Sarees'. You will find all cultural item in city palace markets. Other tourism points in Jaipur city are Albert Hall Museum, City Palace. Bapu Bazar. Birla Mandir, Rambaug Palace and Jaipur Zoo.
