‘East India tourism’




In last post we discussed about East Indian states Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and its tourism points. 

Now we will discuss about more states they are as follows:


1. West Bengal: 

West Bengal is located at the oceanic line of Bay of Bengal on the east part of India. 

Capital state of West Bengal is Kolkata and it is most popular and one of the biggest metro cities of India. 

West Bengal is famous for Howrah Bridge that is one of the heritage sites. Darjeeling Hill station is also located in West Bengal.

Other tourist destinations in West Bengal are Kali maa temple, Victoria memorial, Cooch Behar palace, Jaldapur and Gorumara National park, Mosques and Kumortuli. 

Eden Gardens is biggest cricket stadium of world and that is one of the popular tourism places. Local famous food is Fish and rice.


2. Mizoram: 

This Indian state attracts bird lovers worldwide. 

Climate of Mizoram is so pleasant that many tourists’ visits Mizoram only to enjoy it’s beautiful whether.

Palak Dil and Tam Dil are famous lakes of Mizoram after Vantawng Waterfall. Bamboo industry of Mizoram is also popular. 

Murlen National park, Lamsial Park, Mizo historical village, Kawmzawl Park, Saikuti hills and Dampa Tiger reserve are attractions.


3. Orissa / Odisha: 

Orissa is famous for its water reservoirs. Orissa is house to many lakes, rivers and water reservoirs. 

Bhubaneshwar is capital city of Orissa and other main cities are Cuttuck, Puri and Konark.

Orissa is also famous for temples such as Sun temple, Jagannath temple, Rajarani temple and Lingaraj temple. 

Major tourist attractions of Orissa are Paradeep city (Fort, ports, beaches, Light house and Sancturies), Bargarh, Jeypore (Falls, parks and caves), Barbil, Konark and Puri cities.Its regional famous sweet item is Rasgullas.


4. Nagaland: 

State of mountains attracts tourists at the eastern border of India by its richness of nature.

Falls, Flora and fauna and mountain forests are famous in Nagaland. Most attractions of Nagaland are situated within its cities.

So it is recommended to visit cities and towns of Nagaland such as Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha, Mon, Kiphire, Phek and Mokochung.


5. Tripura: 

Let’s switch to the state of cultural activities.

Thousands of foreigners tours Tripura only in order to know its culture and regional dances.

Agartala is the largest city of Tripura and famous for Agartala palace, Pilak, State museum, Neermahal palace, Malancha niwas and Haveli museum. 

Dharmnagar is attraction of falls, temple and Roa sanctuary. Udaipur and Ambassa cities are famous for heritage temples and rich cultural activities.


6. Sikkim: 

How can we forget the state of word’s third biggest mountain state? Kanchendzonga or Kangchenjunga Mountain is world’s third biggest mountain. 

Most tourist visits Sikkim only to visit Kanchendzonga but there are lots of other attractions in Sikkim that is advised to visit.

Phodong Monastery, Namchi,Rumtek and Pemayangtse Monastery, Khecheopalri lake (Bird attraction),  Tsango lake, Himalayan Zoological park and Kanchendzonga national park are places you should not forget when you visit Sikkim.
