Agra is the city of Uttar-Pradesh state and its located in the west side of state capital, Lucknow.
Agra city is on the banks of the river yamuna. Population of the Agra city is 1,68,7234 and it is most popular city of Uttar-Pradesh and 19th most popular city of India.
Agra city is included in the Golden Triangle with Delhi and Jaipur. Agra city is most tourist destination because of Mughal era buildings. Most notably tourist places are Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Skri.
All three are United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, World heritage sites. Agra city is mentioned in the mahabharat, where it was called agrevana it means the border of the forest.
Climate of the Agra City :
Climate of the Agra city is mild winter, hot and dry summers and a monsoon seasons.
Monsoon season are not heavy as as the monsoon in the other part of the India.
History of Agra :
Agra's history is mainly recognized with Mughal empire.
The sultan sikandar lodi founded Agra in year 1504 and sikandar lodi was the ruler of the delhi sultanate and after the death of sultan the Agra city was ruled by his son sultan lbrahim until he fail fighting to babar in the panipat fought.
During the time of Mughal empire, Agra city was known as Akbarbad and it was the capital of Mughal empire and Mughal empire was under the emperors Akbar, jahangir and shah jahan.
Babar was the founder of the Mughal dynasty and he built first Persian garden on the bank of the Yamuna river and he gave name aram bagh, the meaning is relaxation and his grand son Akbar built a new city outside of the Agra and name of the city was fatehpur sikri and he built fatehpur city was in the form of military camp of the Mughal and Akbar's son jahagir had a love of gardens and he built many gardens inside the red fort at Agra.

There are many places in Agra city to visit and the most famous place is Taj Mahel.
Taj Mahal, Agra :
Taj Mahal is the most famous building in the world, it is the one of the seven wonders in the world and one of the three world heritage site in Agra. It was built in 1953.
It was built by king shah jahan for his beloved wife as the final resting place of her. It was built by using marble and it was built by persian architect ustad isa and it took 22 years of labor and 20,000 workers.
Taj Mahal is on the south bank of river yamuna. Taj Mahal can be observed from Agra fort. It is a masterpiece of symmetry and the top of the gate there are 22 small domes, which signify the number of years took to build Taj Mahal.
The most elegant dome of the Taj Mahal has a diameter of 60 feet and it rise to a height of 80 feet and directly under this dome there is a tomb of mumtaz mahal and her husband shah jahan, shah jahan's tomb was erected by his son Aurangzed.
Agra Fort, Agra :
Agra Fort was built by Great Mughal king akbar in 1565. Agra fort is another world heritage site. The stone tablet at the gate of fort was built before 1000, which is later renovated by akbar.
The red sandstone fort was converted in palace during shah jahan's time and he renovate it with marble.
There are many building in the fort include the pearl mosque, the diwan-e-am and diwan-e-khas, jahangir's palace, mirrored place and a heroic equestrian atatue of shibaji has been erected outside the fort.
Fort is the example of the Mughal Architecture and it showing how north Indian style is different from south side.
